As part of the monthly Santa Rita concerts series hosted by The Little Museum of Dublin, Ergodos will bring Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita to Dublin for his first Irish concert.

The kora plays a central to West African folk traditions. The instrument sounds similar to a harp and is played by griot, a role that combines folk musician, storyteller, and historian in West Africa. Griots are both a repository of songs and stories, and a much revered figure in West African culture.

Seckou Keita is a master kora player. A childhood prodigy, he descended from a family lineage of griots, and has been performing internationally for 20 years.

Over the years, Keita’s music has interpolated international influences with the traditional sounds of West Africa to create something entirely new. You’ll be amazed by the unique sound that Keita will conjure in this intimate concert.
