Estonian composer and performer, Maarja Nuut, will appear as part of the Santa Rita Concerts series at The Little Museum of Dublin.

The combination of the voice, violin and modern live looping technology has been utilised in recent years by a number of musicians such as Owen Pallett, Dáithí, and Andrew Bird, to incredible effect.

Nuut uses the same combination of elements to create a soundworld that draws from both Baltic traditional song and contemporary compositional techniques.

Singing in her native Estonian, Nuut’s music is harmonically haunting and rhythmically hypnotic, at once familiar and utterly strange. Check out her virtuosic and kaleidoscopic approach to the violin in what is sure to be an entrancing performance in The Little Museum.
